  12. Thanks for the great recommendations! It’s almost unbelievable how huge of an issues type 2 diabetes has come on a global level in just a few decades. I live in a country where type 1 diabetes is as high as 5 times more common in males than the rest of the world (if I remember correctly). This is thought to be genetic as type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease and doesn’t seem to be induced by diet. People still get these two confused here all the time. Because type 1 is so common, it’s hard for people to understand that type 2 can be caused by lifestyle factors and obesity. Fortunately our health care is pretty good at treating the illness but still information like this is extremely important as in most cases type 2 is completely reversible.
